Mission

Mission:

100’s of family and friends who were inspired by Thomas Peake’s service and love of art, have agreed to define and record what they are doing over the next 360+ days to spread the essence of Thomas to humanity. We will celebrate all of these deeds and actions, little and big on his birth date, October 8th, in 2010.

Website:

Thomas was a man of action. His everyday life reflected support and kindness. He would say “let’s go do this project” and you would be doing that project within hours or days. Thomas can no longer drag us in to his world of curiosity, generosity, and action but we have learned, through him, how it looks. We are his community, his corps of spirit.

We seek to heal, pay tribute, and above all express our gratitude to Thomas and to the universe for putting Thomas in it. He has changed many lives. As a collective, we have expressed a need to “walk our talk” much like Thomas did.

Over the next year, find a project, little or big, and get involved. Find your own project that speaks to you and give back to those who have a little less. Thomas spent his time working on projects that supported children, homeless, and artists. You may find another area that speaks to you and that is okay. Record and celebrate your experience on this website. You may be an inspiration to others in Thomas’s corps that are living in the same region of the world.

You can expect us to develop this website and make it easy to use in the coming weeks.

Thomas incorporated support and kindness into his everyday life. He was all about the little things.

- He ran across a grocery store parking lot to help an elderly woman push her cart.

- Every day for the last 3 years of his life he encouraged the kids at the bus stops around his house to stay in school and continue on a career path after graduation.

- He helped an elderly woman care for her dogs when her grandson moved away.

- He took countless dogs back to their homes when they would escape from their backyards.

- He taught a 7 year old boy to ride a bike. The boy’s single mom worked 2 jobs lacking the time to show him herself.

- He taught future artists how to make zines, screen print and DJ. He encouraged bands to stay the course and believe in their art.

Thomas was also about the big things during different stages in his life.

- He sold boiled peanuts at a local farmers market every Thursday for months to raise money for a local youth non-profit, East Atlanta Kids Club.

- He built houses starting in high school and throughout the rest of his life with Habitat for Humanity, Mad Housers, and VISTA.

- He helped develop the Snowboard Outreach Society for disadvantaged teenagers.

- He took part in special events for multiple charities, giving a few hours for one day to support a worthy cause.
